Ponds for Kids

Ponds for kids are one of “the pond King’s” favorite topics! Why? Because we are able to pass on our passion for water features to future generations! Ponds for Kids is a program that our supplier Aquascape Designs Inc. has created.  We will approach several different schools, but are only able to do one a year. What we do is this. We approach different schools and usually their science classes, and we show them what we do and how we create a natural ecosystem.  We show the school and teachers how this can be a huge tool for teaching about an ecosystem. Then we explain that the children will be involved right from the start. The school and children then become responsible for raising the funds to purchases all the products involved with making an ecosystem water feature. The cool thing is we are able to donate the product at our cost, and also we donate all of our labor to build this ecosystem. But it doesn’t stop there, the children who help raise the money will be learning about the ecosystem hands on! That’s right the children help us build the water feature, and while we are all building we are giving important lessons on this ecosystem.  This has inspired countless children to pursue a career in our field. But for other children it is just simply cool!
